This species of ant is one that I've seen a few times around the island, although mostly on the beach. I seem to only encounter new queens (female alate) that have yet to remove their wings/mate.
This particular species has an orange body with a black abdomen and two large ridged "spikes" connecting the two halves of the body. The ant is so small that I had to use a 19x macro lens to get a clean shot. Definitely under 1cm in length.
If someone has a correct identification for this I would greatly appreciate it.

This spider was spotted atop the peak of Lanipo trail on Oahu, HI. It was about 3/4" in length and responsive to visual cues within 24-36". The interior of its' legs were colored a light shade of blue, with the rest of the body consisting of reddish-browns, grays, and blacks.
If anyone has any suggestions on a positive ID please let me know. This is the largest species of jumping spider I've ever encountered in Hawaii.

One of my all time favorite Ants. These ants live in small colonies of highly environmentally responsive ants. They watch you in the same way that a jumping spider keeps an eye on your every moment, and it really gives you a sense of what they are thinking when you interact with them.
They are not aggressive towards humans, but have been known to sting if provoked.
The worker caste and the queens are visually very similar. I have never seen a male.

This species of Tetramorium is new to me and my knowledge of the ants on the island of Oahu, HI. At first glance it seems to be a southern fire ant, but it has an elongated body and a very mild temperament. So mild in fact, that I was able to gentle hold an ant in place without it attempting to struggle. When I released my hold it, stayed still for a moment or two before slowly returning to what it was doing.
They were found scavenging a yard waste bin, and more specifically the Papaya scraps that were in it.

Commonly referred to as "Cane Spiders" in the Hawaiian islands, these huntsman spiders can be seen commonly in practically all environments on the islands. They are not normally aggressive, but can be intimidating because of their size and speed.
They can bite, but rarely do so. It takes considerable provocation to be bitten by one.
They can grow up to several inches in diameter, and are colored with an assortment of shades of brown, as well as a "heart" shaped dark pattern in their back.

Extremely invasive, but delicious to eat. These blackberry bushes have large thorns every few inches and robust fruit that starts out tart and ripens to a sweet taste.
The bushes can grow to be higher than human height, about eight or 9 feet, with thorns exceeding 3/4" in length on occasion.

I believe this is a type of Marchantia found in the PNW. The base of the plant is a ground cover, with "leaves" that branch out to about 1" in length, and 0.5" in width. Protruding from this particular species were little growths that looked like mini palm trees. They are about 1cm in diameter and 1/4"-1/2" in height with 9 independent petal-like protrusions.

This large (3-4" in length) caterpillar was seen on some large gardenia bushes. It has a beautiful set of bright blue spots near its head, and a set of symmetrical stripes that runs down the full of the body starting just behind the blue coloration. The white fades in a semi-gradient that goes towards the belly of the caterpillar. The white lines are also accompanied by multiple sets of small white dots that repeat in a particular pattern.

The snake was about 24-32" in length and 1" in width, with a very calm and casual response towards my presence until I was within 32" of it. It has three stripes proceeding from head to tail that are symmetrical, although I could not see the underbelly to discern its color or shape. After noticing me it quickly scurried off into the bushes and did not return.

This spider it about 3/4" in diameter, with a semi-transparent and tanned colored legs. The body of the spider was a deep red, almost nearing a dark brown, and the abdomen was thin, black and had several white-ish dots on the top.
It responded to my prodding by trying to seek the darkest spot it could find. In its agitated state it was able to move at an estimated speed of around 3.5" per second on flat, wood flooring.

Typical sweet basil from a local nursery. Leaves are robust and rounded, with a sweet smell emanating from them. When distressed or flowering, the leaves tend to get thin, hard, and bitter.
