I am a naturalist living on Galiano Island, BC, Canada, which lies in the Salish Sea, in the territories of Hul'qumi'num'-speaking peoples. I hold a Master of Science from the University of Victoria, where I studied the implications of seasonal drought for plants and pollinators. More recently, I've returned to my first love—lichenology—in pursuit of a PhD in the Symbiosis and Evolution Lab at the University of Alberta.

Natural history is a great passion of mine, which I love to share with those in my community. In this spirit, I serve as the curator of the Biodiversity Galiano project: a community-based initiative to document the flora and fauna of Galiano Island, recently featured in Hakai Magazine. I am also a co-founding director of the Institute for Multidisciplinary Ecological Research in the Salish Sea. If you share a passion for natural history and community science, please don't hesitate to be in touch!
