As part of the West Virginia Climate History Project, blooming dates of spring flowers will be recorded by volunteers throughout the state. Using pressed flowers from different universities in West Virginia, we've found blooming dates from over 100 years ago! Now we are trying to find current blooming dates all over the state. Just snap a picture of the flower and record the location and date.

Do you spend lots of time outside? Biking on rail trails, hiking in state forests or parks, or birding through the woods? While you're out, keep your eyes peeled for several beautiful spring wildflowers: trout lily, cutleaf toothwort, blood root, and twinleaf.
