GEAR UP VA: Bugs to Barcode

Welcome to our interdisciplinary GEAR UP Virginia (GUV) project characterizing mosquito diversity on the campus of James Madison University and surrounding community. Rising 10th grade students participants in the GUV summer camp sponsored by the State Council for Higher Education Virginia (SCHEV) are collaborating with JMU students and faculty to use this project as a vehicle for learning advanced applied skills in Ecology, Molecular Biology, Computer Programming, and Bioinformatics as well as gaining an appreciation for the natural world.
