Red and Orange Pored Boletes of the Southeast

Eastern North America has numerous red/orange-pored boletes, many of them poorly defined or unidentified species (see discussion at mushroomobserver.org for more information.) My hope is that someday someone will use DNA analysis to publish something coherently delineating the many beautiful, alluring species in our woods. In the meantime, I'm collecting observations of red/orange-pored boletes in my region with the hope that someday we can give them confident names. menos ↑
