Bizarre and beautiful wasp, about 5 mm, beat from lone tree in creosote bush habitat and collected. I was lost, not realizing that chalcidoids could get this big, but Ross Hill identified the subfamily - see BG link here:

Should perhaps be identifiable to species eventually?

CALA001F. This is a ~3 year old female. The alpha mother of the Presidio group. it's hard to tell, but she has purple and orange ear tags.
I hope to start a project for this soon
