This appears to be Tilloclytus portoricensis, based on comparisons to Bezark’s photographs of the type specimen, also from Guanica. A new species for iNaturalist, it seems.

This was found on 4/8/19, but I got brief but very good binocular looks at an identical male on the 30th. Unfortunately, that beetle was far too camera-shy, so no photos. I went back this afternoon, despite howling winds and 100% overcast skies, because it was ~ 20 deg. F warmer, with fingers crossed for better luck. Almost nothing was moving besides Eleodes, so I was mostly looking for larval burrows and flipping rocks. Much to my astonishment, I eventually found this guy, dead and desiccated, just sitting in the middle of a tiny wash, about 35m "downstream" from last Saturday's. It may well be the same individual, so I'm date-stamping it to the 30th, when I know there was an active adult. The colors are pretty unreal, and I can't wait for better photos opps with this form!!
