This NSWO flew into our window after it was attacked by a cat. We let the owl sit in the snow for a little bit (and scared the cat off) because it was stunned. We then induced the owl to fly off to a nearby oak tree. It roosted there for about 10 minutes before flying into the safety of a nearby juniper tree. This is a friendly reminder to either not let your cat go outside or, at the very least, put it on a leash, please!

This coyote was running after another coyote that had prey. Second, third and fourth photos show the other coyote. He/she was digging in a field, stuck his/her head into the hole and pulled out what could be a prairie dog. He/she took the prey and ran with it across the field and across 104th street.

Before we saw the mink we noticed a muskrat behaving oddly. I've seen a muskrat (or different muskrats) in this place many times but it is (they are) usually very elusive. Today it was sitting on the edge of the shore, swimming across and sitting on the edge again. Usually I just get a glimpse before it disappears. Didn't stay to watch for an outcome.

My heart was racing when I realized the animal coming over the ridge was a Bobcat. While she must have been aware of me, she showed no concern and walked right in front of me no more than 10 feet away. So cool!

My apologies for the graphic photos, but this is too cool! Found a fresh lion cache on my property very close to my home, and was able to track the drag marks over 100 feet down the side of the dirt road. You can see where it settled and plucked the hair a few feet away, then later dragged it under the tree. Going to put my trail camera tonight to see if the lion comes back tonight. 😁

Discovered a fresh mountain lion cache on my property, so I put my trail camera on it overnight. As expected, it returned! It dragged it a short distance, ate some more, and covered it up better than it had been.
