Cap 9.7 (barely open) - 15.5 cm (nearly flat) across. Gray-brown fibrils on cap. Stipe 19 cm long, 2.3 - 3 cm thick, bulbous base 4.5 cm thick. Phenolic odor. KOH pale yellow on all parts.

Cap 2.7 - 5 cm across. Stipe 9.5 - 10 cm long x 4 - 7 mm thick. Odor not distinct. Spores angular, 5 - 6 sided, 7.9 - 10.1 x 7.1 - 8.6 um (excluding apiculus).

First I thought this was Postia ptychogaster. But it’s growing on top of another fungus that looks like postia fragilis except that it seems to have teeth, or very large irregular pores. ?!?!

A small and squat Entoloma medianox? The entire mushroom was about 1-1/2" high.
