Window collision —> squirrel, 1 WTC
Nest-building female with the band number 2411-52480. This band was applied to a hatch-year female cardinal in October 2011 on Metinic Island, Maine.
Leucistic. Foraging in mixed sparrow flock.
Adult and juvenile hawks.
They were grasping each other's legs and were attempting to bite one another.
They may have been stuck but seemed to be intentionally holding on.
There were two other hawks nearby observing this.
The famous Gulf Pier heron. I think Reddish Egret x Great Egret is the most likely parentage.
It looked like a large number of the flock smashed into the windows of a luxury building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Not sure if there’s a lot of variation or if this was a mixed flock of highly similar birds with warbler-like traits. I am a new birder 😬 I also didn’t adjust the date, this is from photos much earlier in the year—October
Likely window collision then stepped on. Yes all migrants I post have been reported to NYC Audubon d-bird.
