Final image is primarily to show the iridescence, which doesn't tend to show up well under flash on an in focus image.
Not sure if this individual is mature. I have several other pictures of this or a similar individual, but they don't seem to show any interesting features not visible in these images.
Very active in depressions in the snow. I didn’t have the means or skill to get better photos unfortunately.
The white grub is Acericecis ocellaris... so who is the little orange guy?
