Tiny young of the year, my dog found it!
Forster's Terns, Cochiti Reservoir
Lizard Back
Since I found this snake in Ruidoso on a little late nigh adventure, and it was identified as a California snake species, it was assumed it was a hitchhiker. The pattern on the snake is black and white, its form has triangle-like shapes from head to tail. The white sections seem to be upwards, while the darker portions of black seem to face downward. The head is mainly black, but its mouth area is white. As an estimate it looks to be about 3-4 feet in length but is does not appear to be on the bigger side in terms of weight.
