I was looking at the larger gall and noticed this one.
On quercus rubra.
Q. alba. Looks like a bud gall, I think. Larger gall is ~1/8" (~3 mm) long. Sending to Andrew Forbes
Very firm, but slightly fleshy growth erupting from a surface-exposed root of a 24”dbh shingle oak.
Visually resembles a ripe raspberry.
Doubtful of my ID but hoping some of you gall folks will see this and weigh in :-)
