Trying out something new!

After taking a field recording workshop with the Cornell Lab of Ornithology in 2019, I've been contributing field recordings of bird songs and vocalizations to Macaulay Library using eBird (and occasionally here on iNaturalist). In the doldrums of winter, I revisited my own sound archives and compiled some past recordings into 5 minutes mixes. I am definitely still an amateur at both field recording and audio mixing, but I'm excited to share these anyway as a record of my experiments.

Track 1: FOR/EST
Dominant recordings: Hermit Thrust / Winter Wren / Carolina Wren / Gray Catbird / Eastern Whip-poor-will
Recorded in New York: Accabonac Harbor, Napeague - Promised Land, and Shindagin Hill.

Track 2: MEAD/OW
Dominant recordings: Yellow Warbler / Bobolink / Eastern Towhee / Purple Martin
Recorded in New York: Merrill Lake Sanctuary, Finger Lakes National Forest.

This summer will be the summer I finally attempt insect ID, and hopefully some by sound. If you can ID any species, let me know. Have suggestions for my audio mixing? Please do share, I am still learning. I'm also happy to share any field recording knowledge I do have.
