Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) is a species of Fungi in the family bracket fungi. It is a fungus that displays different colors, hence "versicolor" and its' appearance resembles that of a turkeys tail. They grow on tree trunks and fallen trees in wooded areas. It is used as a health supplement because it is packed with antioxidant, which help promotes one's immune system by reducing inflammation. Turkey-Tail are also used to prevent obesity because they contain a component called protein-bound beta-glucan (PBG) . Turkey-Tail can also play a role in fighting cancer, they contain some components that may suppress the growth of certain types of cancers. They are consumed either as pills or powder or brewed tea.
