Apis mellifera (Westeren Honey Bee)

The western honeybee is a part of the arthropod kingdom. It is the most common out of 12 species of honeybees worldwide. The honeybee forms large colonies of worker bees that help produce honey and consist of one single fertile female bee which is called the queen bee. The job of the queen bee is to reproduce and manage the hive. The bee Can be found on every continent except Antarctica, this is because bees cannot withstand cold temperatures. Bees are also closely related to wasps and ants.
