Common Ink Cap Mushroom Information

Coprinopsis atramentaria or the Common In Cap have bell-shaped, pale grey caps and gills that liquify to make black ink. They usually grow in spring, summer, and fall in clusters on buried, decaying wood. They are found in urban areas and also mixed woodlands. They are highly poisonous when alcohol has been consumed within 48 hours. Even using products with alcohol on your body after eating an ink cap can be poisonous.

Dotted Hawthorn Journal Entry

The phylogeny placement of the dotted hawthorn is a eukaryote, land plant and seed plant. Its order is rosales, family is rosaceae, and genus is crataegus. One adaptation that all of the trees recorded in my bioblitz have is that they are all adapted to cold weather. They can survive all year round on mount royal which gets to temperatures far below zero. One adaptation that the dotted hawthorn specifically has is that it produces fruit that birds, squirrels and other animals eat which then disperses its seeds.
