The Alleged Florida Bumblebee Millipede Impostor

While there are a lot of anadenobolus monilicornis lookalike species out there (and I've been seeing a LOT in Mexico), I feel comfortable in putting this to bed at least locally.

I captured a female anadenobolus monilicornis of standard appearance, and homed her with a male with darker coloration. They were both young upon capture, and for many months before and after the male there have been no sign of babies, so I am comfortable in saying I believe my female was a virgin and therefore all sperm is from her current partner.

Today I found a couple very young babies in the enclosure! Successful mating makes me confident that these are in fact the same species, so if we accept the female is anadenobolus monilicornis, then so is the male.

For disclosures sake, they do have a roomate, a male flatbacked millipede from out of state. If he managed to breed with my female that would be absolutely unheard of. I'm certain he is not the father. (I actually showed these two to the person who gave me the flatback, and was told it was just color variance, which now I am sure of)
