Beetles about 4 mm long. Several found on young leaves of a small pignut hickory with heavy hole-feeding damage (I presume from these beetles). This is a Florida precinctive species, and I'm not sure whether the adult feeding behavior has been recorded previously.

The much less common, third species of Orgyia found in Florida. Found it on a sparkleberry bush, but I did not observe it feeding.

Found on leaves of a Carya glabra sapling. I did not observe it feeding, but there is a small line of damage along a leaf vein that is similar to adult feeding patterns that are known for this genus.

Length 4.6 mm. Multiple specimens collected from bark and wood galleries (except for one that I found walking on the bark surface) in a dead hickory - I suspect that they were originally Euplatypus compositus galleries, but I'm not certain. I've shared the samples with coleopterists at FDACS-DPI, and gotten in touch with Tommy McElrath at the University of Illinois, who studies this group.

5.1 mm long, collected on the outer bark of a dead hickory. My field pictures were all blurry, but I took some microscope images. Later in the day, I went back to the tree with Dr. Andrew Johnson (FDACS-DPI and UF/IFAS), and we collected more specimens from galleries in the tree.

Many leaf mines seen on young developing leaves of turkey oak. Frass inside mines is in dark lumps and streaks. Found a dipteran larva inside.

On Florida maple. Upright, somewhat pedunculate leaf galls (about 4.5 mm tall by 2 mm at widest) on lower leaf surfaces, along leaf veins. Attachment site has a puckered appearance on upper leaf surface. Cecidomyiid larvae found within galls.

Yellow interveinal banding, and rolling of the leaf edges on American beech. Also some exuviae observed. This is said to be from an aphid species (perhaps multiple?) known as "beech leaf rolling aphids," but I haven't been able to find a more specific ID.

On Asimina parviflora. I'm not certain that it was the cause of the leaf wilt, but it was interesting that the leaves were only wilted on that branch right in the neighborhood of where it was feeding. Perhaps just due to cavitation in the vessels. It definitely seemed to have settled in, did not budge when I moved the branch around to take pictures.
