Show-casing habitat preference. Unlike other shorebirds this has preference to drier habitats. Laterite habitat of coastal and western ghats of India are similar to Arctic tundra when ice melts, I suppose.

This bird is a rare vagrant to the eastern continents and visited same place after a decade. First time observed on 2011 by Dr. Jayan Thomas. Prabably drifted by wind movements, some individuals pass-by Asia and Australia instead of westwards.
Flocks with Lesser-sand plover as seen by regular birders for past few days.
