no visual. went on for a looong time. relocated at one point pretty quickly (too fast to be squirrel). originally up around 20 odd feet above ground. in tree or perhaps roof overhang.

four or more eventually, all doing a slow motion dance around each other. did not see evidence later that any made it up nearby tree and did the hanging “two-backless beast” thing.

My immediate impulse is to say “Queen Anne’s Lace”. But…the umbrel is flat-round and somewhat diffuse, not gently concave and dense. There is no central purple flower. Hairs on the stems look coarse, not fine. There are purple splotches on leaves and stem. Tallest flower stalks were about 40-50cm.
Could this be a clutch of young poison hemlock?

head-thorax-abdomen length ~4mm. brassy metallic appearance. front-to-back stripes on abdomen. Did some grooming and exploring on my knee and then allowed me to transfer it to a nearby plant. Are these guys adorable or what?
