I would not typically bother iNaturalist with something as mundane as a bullfrog. But the skin on this creature looks kind of odd so I thought it might be worth sharing.

This frog was in the background of picture I shot. It is a pretty extreme blowup which is why it looks kind of odd. It was taken in the largest pond on The Villages Golf Course.

I did not realize when I took it that this frog had a white skin. I am trying to find out how unusual this is.

This is male California Quail that had been standing on the big rock behind our house. He often comes with his mate and stand guard on this rock while she feeds. If this picture they have become separated and he is calling out to her. When she responded he took off like a rocket.

This is an ash throated flycatcher. This is only the second one of these I have seen. They winter south of here and come north for the summer.

This is a male Valley Carpenter Bee, which is apparently a rare sighting. This is the largest bee in California. I took 249 pictures to get this mediocre image. I took the picture on Morevern Circle in The Villages.

Two bobcat sightings today. One was about 7 a. m. when the sun was still low and the other was about 1 p. m. when the sun was high and hot. Although this is two different animals note how the natural camo in the fur would allow this animal to hide in the leaves and weeds in both kinds of light.

An interesting looking wild turkey I have been seeing for a couple of months. After lots of research I am comfortable saying this bird suffers from Leucism "a condition in which there is partial loss of pigmentation in an animal resulting in white, pale, or patchy coloration of the skin, hair, feathers, scales or cuticle, but not the eyes. Unlike albinism, it is caused by a reduction in multiple types of pigment, not just melanin."

Four pictures of a hawk that landed on a neighbor's mailbox when Jackee and I were out with the dog about 11:50 this morning. It was after prey in the bushes and was too intent on hunting to be afraid of us. I was less than two car lengths away from the mailbox and about that distance from the flower pots.

Low quality but interesting pictures of a belted kingfisher working on the 7th fairway. He was a very successful hunter, catching fish after fish. These birds are very skittish so I have to keep my distance and use extreme camera setting, thus these low-res images.

Two better than usual pictures of a belted kingfisher headed for the water to catch a fish. I was shooting from the 6th fairway and he was hunting on the 7th fairway. I had to use extreme camera setting but the light (and my luck) were perfect to I got these images that show the bird very nicely.
