My undergraduate degree is in Marine Biology and my masters is in Marine Resources Management, with most of my field experience taking place along the Texas Gulf Coast.

I spent three years working as a microbiology technician at the Dicty Stock Center at Columbia University, propagating and cryopreserving mutant strains of Dictyostelium discoideum for biomedical research, but also other wild type cellular slime molds.

Additionally, I am an experienced informal educator for summer science camps and after school science programs. Currently, I am an instructor for Earth Camp, an initiative by the City of Austin to educate youth about storm water pollution that meets the science objectives for fifth grade students.
