As a Research Associate with the Australian Museum, I work on the taxonomy of the Australian Cetoniines, or flower beetles, with Paul Hutchinson (DPIRD) and Andrew Mitchell (AM). Our integrative approach includes COI barcoding and a molecluar phylogeny, and has helped us discover many new species in this group. In the last few years, contributions (e.g. specimens, observations) from non-scientists have significantly added to what we know about these beetles. We are grateful for this and encourage you to keep letting us know about intesting or rare flower beetles that you encounter during your time in nature.
