I am a retired chemist and materials engineer that has been photographing moths and butterflies at various locations in the U.S. and Costa Rica since 2012. Much of the data has been reported to citizen scientist organizations such as BAMONA, DiscoverLife and more recently iNaturalist. I conduct moth education programs in my native Pennsylvania focused on getting young people more interested in nature. My photos can be found by searching disteffv + flickr.
