Evanston Host Plant Initiative

Unido: 02.feb.2021 Última actividad: 01.dic.2021 iNaturalist

This is a community science project aimed at assessing and creating habitat for the Rusty Patched Bumble Bee and other important pollinators in Evanston, Illinois. We are welcoming community scientists to help inventory existing host plants and new host plants that people grow. These will be made into maps using ArcGIS and analyzed for host plant abundance and density, and used to help guide our efforts to build effective habitat for pollinators.

This initiative was created by Libby Shafer, a master's student in Environmental Sciences at DePaul University, in partnership with Natural Habitat Evanston, a local organization dedicated to creating habitat.
