I'm a food industry professional who loves nature and photography. In addition to having taught outdoor education (1996-2000), I've been a field organizer for environmental causes (2006-2018), and I'm currently a volunteer with The Sierra Club.

While I'm certainly no expert of identifications, I've been influenced heavily by the phrase "It's not so important to know as it is to feel." Joseph Cornell's "Sharing Nature" series is based around this sentiment. In other words, explaining one's feelings in the presence of a certain kind of tree is more important (and educational) than simply telling someone what kind of tree it is.
