I consider myself a naturalist, although I was trained as a civil engineer, a profession which I love and on which I have l made a living for more than 35 years, I have always been in contact with the natural environment. I have studied and written on cichlid fishes for many years and taken thousands of underwater pictures of them in Africa, South America, Central and North America. I have also studied and photographed many freshwater fishes of Mexico. Additionally, for many years I have also studied and written on cacti, managing pictures of blooming plants in habitat of hundreds of species. I have now for several years turned my attention to birds and I am greatly enjoying to learn about their natural history and how to properly identify and photograph them. I am still in the early stages of the process. I also take pictures of any other animal or plant I come near by
