I have always been an avid naturalist and I am particularly interested in animal and plant adaptations. I grew up in the Northeast U.S. and started my interest mostly in the Adirondack region, but I have lived near Seattle since 1988. Professionally, I study molecular evolution and I am a Professor at the University of Washington. I am developing quantitative modeling of iNaturalist observations, some links below.
