I have loved snakes my whole life. Caught my first wild snake when I was 10 years old and didn't have a clue what I was doing. She was a beautiful Desert Kingsnake that I kept as a loving pet until I was in my late 20s. She was the only wild snake I ever kept as a pet. I still love the thrill of catching snakes, but always let them go again even though it is difficult. I try to get a picture of every snake I catch as a way to preserve the moment. I am glad I found iNaturalist as a place to share those pictures in a way that might be helpful for scientific and nature conservation purposes.
