The Friends of Lake Elmo’s Sunfish Lake Park is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation that operates the Sally Manzara Interpretive Nature Center located in the city of Lake Elmo’s Sunfish Lake Park in Minnesota. The mission of the nature center is as follows:

• Stand as a symbol of the Stewardship of our community for its natural surroundings and heritage,
• Serve as a focus of community activities related to outdoor life,
• Provide a place where people of all ages can learn about the unique natural history and ongoing ecology of Sunfish Lake Park,
• Teach general environmental awareness via specific local examples,
• Honor the agricultural heritage of Lake Elmo.

Sunfish Lake Park is a beautiful, relatively undisturbed 284 acre natural area owned by the city of Lake Elmo and protected under a conservation easement administered by the Minnesota Land Trust. The property includes native upland aspen-oak and hardwood forests, wetlands, and restored prairie openings providing valuable habitat for a variety of plant and animal species. Approximately 9 miles of trails wander through the park for visitors to hike, ski, and experience the scenic environment through low impact recreational and educational activities.
