This is Thalavaipandi from Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, I am working as a Research Associate in ATREE's Agasthyamalai Community Conservation Centre.
I have been interested in backyard biodiversity since my childhood. I started my learning from the medicinal plants around my home, school, and road side. Then got interested in birds and participated in many bird surveys and designed pocket guides for birds. After the birds I want to be unique so I tried to learn something less studied and more colorful taxa butterflies, recorded and taught to the local college and school children about the butterflies which are found around my landscape and published a few pocket guides. Finally, now I am studying and researching the diversity and importance of moths in different landscapes and working for a user-friendly field guide for moths.
