A NEW YEAR WITH A FOCUS ON HEALTH!

The Biodiversity Challenge is back for another year and we’re hoping you’ll continue to take part, not only to help protect biodiversity, but also and, above all, for the sake of your own health!

Did you know that after spending just a few seconds in contact with nature, you’ll already be feeling its soothing effects? This calming influence has a direct, beneficial impact on our mental and physical health by helping us to maintain our equilibrium—an excellent reason to take the time to observe nature and share our discoveries with others.

Since the start of 2021, the 120 members of the Biodiversity Challenge have already made 201 observations. Here are the stand-out species for these cold weather days:

1- Common redpoll
2- Eastern grey squirrel
3- Black-capped chickadee
4- Downy woodpecker
5- White-breasted nuthatch

In 2020, from June to December, a total of 34,282 observations were made by the members of the Biodiversity Challenge. This year, we should easily reach 50,000 observations if more nature-lovers get involved. Tell your family and friends about it!

The purpose of the Biodiversity Challenge, in addition to making observations, is to help all of us stay healthy. Take some time out, by yourself or with your family, to discover the nature that’s all around you. You’ll feel better for it.

We’ll be in touch again very soon!
