Today was the start of another data point for the longevity study. The first part of the road had all newts flagged. After the 60th, I stopped, to save flags for the return trip. And the remainder of the road was surveyed as usual.

Turns out that flag #80 went missing, so there is that gap in numbering.

Coverage:

• Longevity study: Jones parking lot to just after HTH's area just north of Priest Rock (stopped at 60 dead newts to save 40 for the return trip.)
• Regular survey: Between removal experiment and second stop sign.

83 newts flagged for the longevity study
52 newts additional, no juveniles

Other roadkill: one moth (there were several more millipedes, but I was getting short on time so didn't log them)

Weather: Nice, 50sF sunny

Traffic: 51 cars; 19 bikes; 12 quarry trucks; 6 pedestrians
