We love to observe the flora and fauna in our garden. To maximize the biodiversity we started to increase the structural heterogeneity in our garden. You can find a diverse mosaic from different small scale habitats with a "wide" gradient of site conditions (e.g. moisture, nutrient levels, light, et cetera). Backyard Species Monitoring
We love to observe the flora and fauna in our garden. To maximize the biodiversity we started to increase the structural heterogeneity in our garden. You can find a diverse mosaic from different small scale habitats with a "wide" gradient of site conditions (e.g. moisture, nutrient levels, light, et cetera). Future projects will include peatland (old bathtub) and dry grassland habitats (parking spot with lime gravel). There is a lack of dead wood, which is why we dig in tree trunks. In the long term, however, our fruit trees will also get older...
