Boulder County has the 4th highest biodiversity of butterfly species in the United States! The warm month of July is a great time to go on a butterfly safari - and document as many species as you can. Boulder County rises 9,000 vertical feet from the prairies to the summits - with many life zones packed into an absurdly small area. This is heaven for a butterfly watcher!
