Way to Go Boise!

Thank you so much to each of you for participating in the 2021 City Nature Challenge! We are currently sitting at 523 species and 2, 499 observations! Although the next few days are focused on identifying observations, photos taken between April 30th and May 3rd can still be added. If you would like to help with identifications, but are unfamiliar with the process, this one-hour webinar might be helpful.

Almost at 500 species!

We are just 19 species shy of reaching 500! Thanks to all of you for participating in the 2021 City Nature Challenge Boise! There are just 6 hours left in the observation period. Way to go @satoita for contributing 236 observations and @empress_of_the_elements for adding 76 species! No surprise when it comes to the most observed species....Canada goose for the win! Keep up the great work everyone.

Final 12 Hours for Observing!

We are now in the final stretch for collecting observations! The 500 species by the end of the day goal is just 27 species away! Can you find a few new species to add to our totals? Thanks so much to every one of you who has contributed an observation or made an identification as part of this effort! Way to go Boise! You never know what you might discover right in your own backyard!

Final Day for Observations!

Last night we exceeded 2,000 observations from 109 participants! Way to show up Boise! We just 49 species short of the 500 species mark. Let's see if we can reach 500 species by the end of the day today. Remember, observations made between April 30th and May 3rd can continue to be uploaded through May 9th! Final results will be announced on May 10th. Keep those observations rolling in! You never know what you might discover.

Day 3!

It looks like today is going to be a bit chillier and windier than yesterday, but still a beautiful day to get out and explore. We have now exceeded 1,500 observations and 350 species! It looks like we will cross the 100 observer mark today. Keep up the great work Boise! Let's see if we can reach 500 species by the end of the day. You never know what you might discover!

More than 1,000 observations!

We surpassed 1, 000 observations and 300 species this afternoon! Way to go Boise. Let's see how many new observers we can add throughout the day(we are now at 86!). Please encourage others you know to join the Challenge. Thank you @empress_of_the_elements for contributing 122 observations of at least 76 species! Let's keep the observations rolling in through the afternoon. What a gorgeous day to be out exploring nature in Boise!

City Nature Challenge 2021 Boise Day 2

Way to show up Boise! During day 1 of the City Nature Challenge together our community contributed over 700 observations of 226 species. Let's see if we can double that today! It is shaping up to be a beautiful day to get out in our yards, parks, along the Greenbelt, and in the foothills. Encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to get out and join the Challenge.

It's Here! The City Nature Challenge Starts Today!

Today marks the start of the 2021 City Nature Challenge! Let's get out and show the world the incredible biodiversity that makes Boise such a wonderful place to live, work, and play!

Boise has been challenged by Bonner County, ID and Red Lodge, MT to see who can engage the most participants per capita. Please encourage your friends and families to join in the effort!
