Diario del proyecto City Nature Challenge 2021: Denver-Boulder Metro

Today is the last day of the Denver/Boulder City Nature Challenge! We're at over 3,000 observations - that's already over 1,000 more than last year - great work!! Let's see how many more we can get by the end of the challenge! Don't forget - you can continue uploading your observations to iNaturalist through May 10th, but they must be taken during the April 30 - May 3 bioblitz. You have until 11:59pm TONIGHT to capture your final observations!

Put on that raincoat and get out there :)

If you haven't already uploaded your photos from the bioblitz, you have until Monday, May 10th. Scroll through your smartphones and cameras to make sure you didn't miss anything!

Now we move into the observation ID process! Anyone with an iNaturalist account can do this, and you don't have to be an expert. Take a look at observations uploaded as "unknown" and give suggestions by clicking on the "observations" tab on the project page, then clicking "identify".

Denver-Boulder citizen scientists, thank you for making the 2021 City Nature Challenge an absolute success!

The results are in, and as of this morning, we had:
4,362 total observations, 735 species observed, 365 observers, and 304 identifiers. All thanks to YOU!

Throughout the globe, 52,000+ observers from all over the world collected 1,256,000+ observations of 45,000+ species during the four-day bioblitz!

We’ll be awarding prizes to some of the most active participants and for standout observations. More soon!
