Welcome!

This project is just getting going. Please add any observations you or others have of insects on hilltops and invite anyone who might want to contribute. The goal is to expand our knowledge of the insects that hilltop and which hills they love. My inspiration for this project comes from seeing hordes of ladybugs looking very out of place on a glaciated peak in the North Cascades in 2011. Since then I've been seeing lots of fun flies and butterflies atop peaks in the Rockies.

For now, we'll take any arthropods on near the tops of peaks in the landscape - these could range from hills with just a bit of prominence to huge mountains. While trees can also serve as "hilltops", let's stick with features of the terrain for now. It's great if you add a description to your observation that says what the insects were up to - patrolling, flying, resting - and how many there were.
