These guys don't usually have white antenna, but these ones just about glow in the dark. This animation is slowed down by a factor of 4, but they were actually moving quite slowly today anyway. I assume the small winged insect was also from this nest, if not the same species I will move it to a separate observation.
On lichen, on rock, in grassland.
The photos with the plain background are mostly of the underneath.
Disturbed an ants nest whilst turning over rocks around the South Coast of Wellington. Well and truly above the tideline, but still in sight of the beach / 50m.
