Was digging in my decomposed granite pile and a cash these eggs. They are soft shells. I have spiny lizards and green anole.
Husband uncovered it in our wood mulch pile
May have been Nerodia erythrogaster. No obvious banding, but impression of dark line between back of eye and jaw opening. Was predating on an adult toad (Incilius nebulifer).
Can’t see it too well but it was identified by our chapter’s herp experts!
