Nature Walk: Fungi

I went for a walk in the woods by my neighborhood and discovered different varieties of fungi, but found even more on my property! It was around 70 degrees Fahrenheit out when I went for my walk at 6:15 pm. In general the more I walked, the more fungi I found in clusters rather than by themselves. I'm not sure why this is, but it might be because I spent more time looking on my property than in the woods. I observed different sizes and shapes of fungi, but most were of a darker brown or blackish hue. There were no outrageously bright colors observed. The largest clump I found was growing next to a tree stump on my lawn.
