In the last 48 hours the search engine for this site has been replaced by "Yandex".

Is this appropriate In the current international political climate.
Or does the old adage that science transcends international/political boundaries apply?

As far as I can judge, Yandex in many circumstances opposes official Kremlin position and currently acts just as an ordinary transnational corporation.
I'm pretty sure that the page has either been hacked or they let things lapse; when I visit the page it isn't the search engine for the page that's replaced but the entire page redirects to Yandex.
I just found the same problem today. I hope the site hasn't gone permanently!
