There was a compact ("unfurled") leaf bundle that had conspicuously emerged from the centre of this grasstree.
A light touch immediately separated the bundle into a new spray of fresh leaves (shown in last photo).
Leaves blue-green, glaucous, diamond shaped i.e transverse-rhombic in T.S/cross section.

A native violet growing halfway up a rock beside a track. Whilst flower colour and pattern are key distinguishing features in native violet identification, I narrowed it down to either Viola silicestris or V. hederacea, primarily using the leaves and decided on the former, after comparing leaves of nearby known specimens of both species. Leaf margin and lamina base and its attachment to the petiole differences were particularly useful.

Leaves alternate (although 2-ranked and pseudopinnate) with rounded tip, distinguishing it from the similar looking Indigofera australis, which has opposite leaflets, usually tipped with a small mucro.
Both species are found in this reserve.
Leaves dicolorous (paler below) and dry black.

Soft, lush, smooth, relatively vibrant green leaves compared to the surrounding grasses.
Surprisingly thick, fleshy roots that perhaps contribute to drought tolerance, as conditions are very dry yet this species is lush.

Leaves slender on twining stems, shown in separate photos against a piece of bark, as flower photos in situ are amongst suspected Breynia oblongifolia seedling and grasses.

The pond is currently dry, with no visible surface water. It's been a warm, dry winter.
Only one flower seen, although several flower buds can be seen in one of the photos. Probably because it's too early in the season.

Found growing beside track to Congwong Beach from Cann Park.
Strongly suspected to be the exotic Pelargonium capitatum, which seems to have established itself as a weed at Congwong Beach. There may be native Pelargonium australe in the vicinity as well, as they've been recorded nearby but there seems to be more records of the weed species than the native at this location. Flower colour will help distinguish between the two species.

Solitary specimen beside track. Western aspect. Relatively sheltered yet fairly sunny position.
According to the PlantNET key to subspecies, the leaves of Crowea exalata magnifolia are 20–75 mm long x 3–9.5 mm wide.
Leaves of this specimen measured 17.3–17.7 mm x 3.6–3.7 mm, so just wide enough to be within the range of this subspecies but shorter than the minimum length.
