vanedenDescripción
This insect was photographed at the Mauna Loa Observatory, at about 3100m elevation, about 1000m below the summit. The bugs swarm around cars parked at the trailhead. They were plentiful at the time we were there.
Nysius aa ("wekiu bug" in Hawaiian) is native to the summit of Mauna Loa, at 4170m but is flightless, so this observation is likely only a lowland relative.

Maybe a Discrete Chaperon? That was the best suggestion from iNat that I could see.

Captured by hand on green bean plant. A little damaged. iNat proposes this is Ocyptamus, but the photo examples show a body much thinner and elongated that this individual.
