Is there a law similar to the MBTA that covers mammals or herps?

As far as I know, the only federal law that covers mammals, herps, or anything else that this site would worry about (except birds) is the Endangered Species Act. NEPA requires an assessment of impacts on wildlife, and CITES covers imports of endangered species from other countries.
