A project to collect observations of the orange lesions on Kanono (Coprosma autumnalis). The lesions are the orange wood erupting from the trunk or branch and usually indicates the plant is distressed or dying. The orange lesions tend to be more obvious after rain.

Samples of affected plants have been examined by MPI - Ministry for Primary Industries, and @cooperj Jerry Cooper, mycologist at Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research. No pathogenic fungi or bacteria was dectected. The current likely cause is abiotic, eg drought conditions.
