Benefits of Joining the Oregon iMapInvasives Project

You may have found your way here after being notified that I've added an observation of yours to the project. Thank you for allowing curators such as myself to add your observations, which is wonderful and helps create a rich dataset for the iNaturalist project. Now I'd ask that you to take a further step and join the iMap iNaturalist project. Just click the "Join this Project" link at the top of our project page.

Why join? A few examples of the benefits:
1) Formally joining the project will give me the ability to incorporate your sightings into the iMapInvasives statewide database used by agencies, non-profits, and researchers to prioritize management and understand invasive species across the state. If you use a creative commons license for non-commercial use, that will also allow me to use your sightings in the iMapInvasives database. All observations will be attributed to you with a link back to the iNaturalist URL for your observation.
2) You will gain access to a very handy "Add from my observations" tool that will query your existing observations and generate a list that matches the iMap criteria, allowing you to quickly add all relevant sightings using the batch edit tool
3) You can easily add observations in the future from your list of observations using the "Add to Project" drop-down (see a screenshot in this how-to)

Cheers,
Lindsey

This is a good project -- curious to see the map of invasive species up there. Keep up the great job, Lindsey! :)
