At dusk today, I heard a bird strike a window. I found this beautiful bird dead.

Found dead under bridge on Harkins Ridge Trail. No decomposition at all yet.

It was dead and in this position... it was striking to be in this position

Note the lobed toes in the second photo . Probably it was hit by a car .

This little guy was walking down my street

Found dead on the sidewalk. I don't think it was here at lunchtime. Had a few fleas or mites on it. ~8‐9 inches tall estimated. Maybe a burrowing owl?

Not an easy thing to witness.

Found along the side of the Caltrain rail line in Sunnyvale, CA on 7/9/19 by a biologist conducting bird nesting surveys.

There used to be a marshy area here but now there is a new housing development. Perhaps the salamanders have moved into the private lots to the south where this one was found.

Found crossing the road at 8:30 pm during rainstorm.

At Black Rock Falls off Waterfall Loop trail map marker #12. It was on the edge of a calm pool of water, looked healthy and was about 8" long.

"wild" peacock, in the sense that it lives on its own in the area and different people feed it.

About 20' up in tree apparently invading active house wren box. I didn't know they were good climbers!

Such a purty snake. Right at the edge of AWS range, but no color on the throat.
