Spotted this mallow on the shady roadside by Oak Creek Horticultural Center, while the center is a landscaped area, the mallow was clearly uncultivated and growing wild outside of the landscaping. The simple forked hairs in the stem and the calyx’s not overlapping were key identifying characteristics.
Stems globose; sepals, stems, and leaves pubescent; 5 sepals, flowers in racemes
Calyx hirsute and lower stem, not stellate. Mericarp 4.5mm, reticulate.
